During small groups and center time we have been trying to get an idea of each child's readiness skill strengths and weaknesses. As always, we have a wide variety of skill levels. We have been modifying small group activites to meet the needs of each individual child. Some of the skills that we have been working on (and that you could work on at home) are:
- naming colors
- sorting colors
- counting from 1-20
- identifying numbers 1-10
- writing numbers 1-10
- writing his/her name (most of them are ready to start learning to write their last name)
- naming the letters of the alphabet (we have talked about letter T and D - hopefully they can name those)
